Tripura: In a tragic incident, a total of seven people lost their lives, and several others sustained injuries during Ulta Rath Yatra in Tripura’s Unakoti district on Wednesday.
According to police, heavy rainfall had been persisting since morning but despite the adverse weather conditions, people had gathered to participate in the Ulta Ratra Yatra festival. The injured were admitted to the hospital, where many of them are stated to be critical.
“As we were approaching with the Rath, somehow, it came into contact with a high voltage wire. Unfortunately, seven individuals lost their lives, with many others sustaining injuries,” said a police source.
