MP: 6,000 People Facing Mobile Network Problem In Maoist-Hit Villages

Posted on December 18, 2024 By No Comments on MP: 6,000 People Facing Mobile Network Problem In Maoist-Hit Villages

Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh): More than 6,000 people living in Maoist-hit villages are facing mobile phone network problem. The places where this problem exists, include Mohanpur, Chalis Bodi, Kaveli and Kasangi. Because of network problem, the mobile phones have turned into showpieces.

There are two police outposts in the Maoist-hit Kasangi and Sonwani besides one higher secondary school and 14 primary schools. There are three middle schools and a girls’ hostel in Mohanpur. A boys’ hostel has been set up in Kanhatola where there are an Anganwadi centre and a sub-post office. BSNl has installed three mobile phone towers in each of the two villages, but there is no network.

This is the reason why whenever a villager wants to call up 108 Ambulance, he has to climb a nearby hillock or a water tank to get a network. At a time when people across the world are active on social media, the people of Maoist-hit areas are facing mobile network problem.  Because of network problem, the farmers cannot get their names registered for selling produce.  Similarly, the government officials are not able to send any important information to other places. For want of a network, the villagers cannot avail of the 108 Ambulance services.

The information about road accidents cannot also be given to the relatives of those who meet with accidents. When the issue was put up before collector Mrinal Meena, he said that towers had been installed, but there was a network problem. Other companies, asked to install towers, have given a positive reply, so the network problem will soon be solved, he said.
