Man Kills Self In Front Of 8-Yr-Old Daughter In Indore

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Much to the horror of an 8-year-old girl, her father who was reeling under debt, committed suicide by stabbing himself in the neck with a knife, slitting his wrist and consuming some poisonous substance.

When the girl cried for help the neighbours rushed to the scene and saw the man lying injured on the floor. The incident occurred around 11:30 am in Gandhi Nagar police station area on Friday. As per reports, the man was at home with his eight-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son. He left a suicide note, mentioning the names of money-lenders who were threatening him to recover their loans.

According to the police, the deceased was identified as Arjun Solanki, a native of Alot, who lived in Gandhi Nagar area. He was a security guard in a private company. His family members said that Arjun was addicted to online gaming and owed huge debts.

On Friday morning, his wife went outside for some work, leaving Arjun alone with his eight-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son. Arjun gave some money to his daughter and asked her to buy something from a nearby shop. He locked the door from inside when she left the room.

Feeling that something was wrong, she peeped from the window and saw Arjun stabbing himself in the neck with a knife, slitting his wrist and consuming some poisonous substance. She cried for help and neighbours rushed to the place. They took him to hospital but he could not be saved.  

Family paid Rs 10 lakh debt earlier

His elder brother Mahesh said that Arjun had taken around Rs 10 lakh debt due to his addiction to online gaming a few years ago. They had paid all his debts and Arjun came to Indore around two years back. But he took huge debts again, leading him to take the drastic step.  

Had made suicide bid earlier too

Arjun attempted to kill himself around two months ago when he consumed some poisonous substance by mixing it with liquor at his workplace. He sent the video of the incident and a suicide note to his elder brother, leading to an intervention. He was rushed to hospital and saved.
