Maharashtra Govt Reconstitutes Infrastructure Sub-Committee, Reduces Members To Six

The Mahayuti government, led by Devendra Fadnavis, has decided to reconstitute the cabinet sub-committee on infrastructure, which will have six members instead of 8 during the tenure of Mahayuti-1.

While the Eknath Shinde-led government had two members each from the Shiv Sena and the BJP, the NCP had two members. Now, it will have just one member from each constituent besides the Chief Minister and the two Deputy Chief Ministers.

The revised committee will be headed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, with his two deputies, Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, as its members. The other members will be Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif, and Industries Minister Uday Samant.

In the previous committee headed by the then CM Eknath Shinde with two Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar as its members – it had Uday Samant and Dadaji Bhuse from the Shiv Sena, Ravindra Chavan and Atul Save from the BJP, and Dilip Walse Patil from the NCP.

The committee plays an important role in policy decisions to infrastructure projects undertaken by the Public Works Department (PWD), MSRDC, and other departments of the state government where public-private partnerships are involved.
