Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Municipal commissioner Shivam Verma said here on Saturday that of the 23 roads proposed for the city under the master plan, work on eight roads would commence this week in the first phase. He was speaking at a review meeting held to discuss the progress of road construction in the city under the Master Plan.

Additional commissioner Rohit Sisodia, Abhay Rajnagaonkar, superintendent engineer DR Lodhi, Naresh Jaiswal, Parag Agrawal and various building and zonal officers attended the meeting. Verma said that 23 roads were proposed under the Master Plan for Indore.

Currently, construction of the road from Bicholi Hapsi to Nayata Mundla via Bhuri Tekri was in progress. Out of the remaining 22 roads, work on eight roads would begin this week.

The commissioner directed that the central lines for these roads must be marked this week and notices issued to the individuals concerned as needed. He emphasised that all departmental heads and building officials must ensure that the construction was as per quality standards and timeline.

This initiative under Indore’s Master Plan is a crucial step towards enhancing the city’s traffic management and infrastructure, paving the way for a better urban environment.

The 8 roads included in the first phase are:

– Subhash Marg (Gol Mandir to Rambagh Bridge): Length 1,300 metres, width 30 metres.

– Link Road (MR 10 to MR 12): Length 1,800 metres, width 30 metres.

– MR 5 (Bada Bangarda to PMAY Multi): Length 1,700 metres, width 24 metres.

– Bhamori Square to MR 10 and Rajshahi Garden to Hotel Watch: Length 1,100 metres, width 30 metres.

– Veer Savarkar Statue to Atal Gate: Length 1,310 metres, width 18 metres.

– Advas Academy to Ring Road: Length 3,650 metres, width 30 metres.

– Jamjam Square to Star Square: Length 1,920 metres, width 30 metres.

– Ring Road (Khajrana Temple Gate to Jamjam Square): Length 1,120 metres, width 18 metres.
