Guwahati: TMC supremo and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday lashed out at BJP for not fulfilling the promises made during election campaigns
Addressing an election rally after a road show, Banerjee said that Trinamool Congress is the only alternative party to give redress to the people and the Congress is the B-team of the CPI-M.
“The BJP have failed to fullfill the promises made during election campaigns. The double engine government could not save Delhi how can they save Tripura? In the last five BJP workers attacked our party workers and injured them and didn’t provide them proper treatment. After that we have took them to Kolkata for better treatment. The BJP government have failed in their promises and run a doctorial regime in Tripura under Biplab Kumar Deb,”.
Banerjee said that the culture, language, food habits, attires of both Bengal and Tripura are same and Bengal would always remain beside Tripura.
“When elections comes, you will see the BJP workers doing everything but after elections was over you cannot see them. They do everything for election. The double engine government has failed to fulfill the promises made during the elections,” Banerjee asserted.
Banerjee further said, “Everyone is know praising Bengal model because we have develop every sector. We are the party of common people didn’t discriminate. What we will say, we will do but the double engine government only say do nothing. We have given free rations and all welfare scheme for the benefit of the people. We have given ‘Kanyashree’, ‘Sikshashree’, Aikyashree, Student Credit card for the people of West Bengal. Every body has been benefitted from this welfare scheme,”.
Slamming Congress and CPI-M, she said both the parties which ruled in Tripura for several years done nothing for the people of the state.
“We are contesting the Tripura election alone because these parties have no ethics. They only changes party to remain in power. You have seen in West Bengal how we came into power after facing violence, attrocities in hands of CPI-M cadres,” she added.
Banerjee said, “We want to set up industries in Agartala and transform the city into industrial town. If we came in power in Tripura, we will develop the health sector of the state,”.
Meanwhile, all the major political parties of Tripura have started campaigning and some of them have started door-to-door campaigns to ‘woo’ voters.
Tripura will go for polls on February 16.
