On Thursday, Kolkata Police asserted that they had detained a second suspect in a case involving a gaming app scam at his home in the Beliaghata main road neighbourhood of Kolkata the day before.

“Vikram Singh Gandhi was taken into custody from his home on Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. in relation to the E-Nuggets gaming app fraud case. The detective department is looking into the case, according to a senior police official. According to him, the primary inquiry points to a relationship between Gandhi and the main suspect, Aamir Khan.

The officer said, “Aamir used to give Gandhi cash, which he would then give to Romen Agarwal to convert into digital currencies. So far, six persons have been detained in relation to the fraud. Khan is currently in police detention after being taken into custody by the Kolkata Police in Ghaziabad. A money laundering case has also been filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) based on a Kolkata Police FIR that was filed as a result of a complaint by Federal Bank employees.
