Friday’s virtual conference of governors, chief ministers, and lieutenant governors, presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and intended to discuss various elements of India’s G20 presidency, did not provide Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee the opportunity to speak, a senior source claimed.

Banerjee “could not utter a single word,” despite having prepared paperwork outlining Bengal’s preparations for the G20 summit “The official, who also attended the virtual meeting, said

At the meeting, the CM was not given the opportunity to speak. She was carrying a package of documents related to the state government’s planning for the G20 events that will take place in West Bengal “Official statement to PTI.

In the discussion, Modi emphasised the value of cooperation and asked states and union territories for their support in planning G-20 activities, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

On December 6, the PM hosted a G-20 all-party summit in New Delhi.

Banerjee, who is also the leader of the TMC, was present at the meeting on Tuesday.
