Government of West Bengal is not sharing dengue data to the centre

Union Minister of State (MoS) for Health Bharati Pravin Pawar accused the Trinamool Congress administration in West Bengal on Friday of failing to furnish the Center with dengue data.

In a lecture at the 16th Asian Conference on Diarrheal Disease and Nutrition (ASCODD) in Kolkata, Pawar said, “The central government is regularly providing guidelines to the states regarding dengue.”

The centre doesn’t know how many people in Bengal have fallen ill from the vector-borne disease. The government is required to inform us of the current situation.
The minister encouraged the state to send in any data concerning dengue right away.

“There is no obligation on part of us to share data with the Centre. It is completely a state matter and our government is responsible enough . There is no problem with the state government’s efforts in combating the disease. But it is also important for people to be aware and prepared. Many people are still quite unaware about the spread of dengue,”

In Kolkata, another individual passed away from dengue on Friday. On October 22, Rohit Das, a 30-year-old Survey Park resident working in the IT industry, was admitted to a private hospital.
A total of 723 people in the state tested positive for dengue on Thursday.
