Assam: 3.2 kg Heroin seized, 5 arrested; Chief Minister lauded Karimganj police

Guwahati: Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma praised Karimganj police on June 22 for seizing large quantities of drugs.

Taking to Twitter, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote , ” Karimganj police intercepted two vehicles coming from a neighboring state Nilkantapur ,Bazaricherra in Karimganj and seized 250 soap cases containing 3.2kilogarm of Heroin. Also apprehended five accused. ”

Two days before Karimganj police had seized 2400 bottles of Codeine based cough syrup from a truck of Churaibari WP and arrested one trafficker.

On June 22 , the Karimganj police also conducted awareness programme on drugs menace at six various places at Patharkandi and R.K.Nagar area .
