GUWAHATI, JAN 12: A hard core NSCN-R cadre was apprehended in a joint operation by security forces in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district on Tuesday.
An operation was launched by a joint team of 31st Assam Rifles and Changlang district police and held the NSCN-R cadre from Nadipar in Changlang.
The security forces also recovered one chinese hand grenade from nearby his house.
The cadre has been identified as self styled Lieutenant Lumai Tailu (42), an active member of NSCN-R outfit organization, resident of New Shallang, Changlang.
Sources said the NSCN cadre has been involved in many extortion activities in the Changlang district.
Security forces have launched massive operation against the insurgent groups and so far many cadres of the proscribed groups have been arrested.
