After a missile strike that killed two people, Poland summons the Russian ambassador | Top notch

Posted on November 16, 2022 By No Comments on After a missile strike that killed two people, Poland summons the Russian ambassador | Top notch
US President Joe Biden convened an emergency meeting with world leaders who were in attendance for the G20 conference after Poland said that two persons were killed by a Russian-made missile in eastern Poland, close to Ukraine.
Russia’s ambassador to Poland was called in for an explanation.
Early on Wednesday, two people were killed in explosions after a Russian-made missile touched down in eastern Poland close to Ukraine.
Russian weapons likely fell on a NATO nation for the first time since the invasion of Ukraine.
Poland, a NATO member, summoned Russia’s envoy to Warsaw for an explanation following the explosion after Moscow denied responsibility.
Poland said that a “Russian-made” missile killed two people there, prompting US President Joe Biden to convene a “emergency” meeting with G7 and NATO leaders.
Following the blasts in Poland, world leaders gathered for the G20 summit in Bali, Indonesia, had an emergency meeting on Wednesday.
Joe Biden responded when asked if the missile was shot from Russia, “There is some preliminary data that refutes that.
I don’t want to say it until we have finished our investigation, but the trajectory makes it seem implausible that it was launched from Russia.”

Foreign Affairs Minister Zbigniew Rau called the Russian ambassador to the Polish MFA and demanded an immediate and thorough explanation after Russian missiles struck the Polish village of Przewod3w, district Hrubiesz3w, and killed two civilians.
Following the strikes, US President Joe Biden called an urgent summit of the G7 and NATO leaders in Indonesia.
According to Reuters, the summit was attended by leaders from the United States, Germany, Canada, Netherlands, Japan, Spain, Italy, France, and the United Kingdom.
“Numerous missile assaults occurred in western Ukraine.
We have always supported Ukraine wholeheartedly, and we do so again today.
Whatever it takes, we’ll provide them the tools they need to protect themselves “declared the President.
At the beginning of the meeting, the leaders could be seen briefly seated around a conference table.
Joe Biden responded “no” when asked if US President may discuss what he knows about the blast.
When questioned about what role Russia might play, he remained silent.
Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Ukasz Jasina issued the following statement: “The entire territory of Ukraine and its vital infrastructure were subjected to another hour-long, intense shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation on November 15, 2022.
Two residents of the Republic of Poland were killed when a Russian-made missile struck the village of Przewod3w in the Lubelskie province’s district of Hrubiesz3w at 3:40 p.m.
Therefore, Zbigniew Rau, the Polish minister of foreign affairs, called the Russian ambassador to the MFA and demanded an immediate and thorough explanation.”
In accordance with NATO Article 4, NATO ambassadors will convene today at Poland’s request.
Any concern about the security of a member state may be raised by members in accordance with NATO Article 4.
Jens Stoltenberg, the secretary-general of NATO, convened an urgent gathering of the alliance’s envoys to talk about the developments in Poland near the Ukrainian border.
In a tweet sent on Tuesday, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated that his nation was promptly looking into the claims of the missile strike in Poland and would support partners in their efforts to determine what happened.
As part of our coordination efforts, we are working with NATO, according to Sunak.
Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the president of Ukraine, claimed on Tuesday that Russian missiles struck Poland, a member of NATO, in what he called a “major escalation” of the conflict.
He went on to say, “Beyond the boundaries of our states, terrorism exists.
It has already reached Moldovan territory, and as of right now, Russian missiles are hitting Poland.
People were killed when they struck a friendly nation’s land.
Please accept the sympathies of all the brothers in Ukraine.”
Zelenskiy criticised Russia for the purported missile attacks in further detail and stated, “The terrorist must be put in his or her place.
Russia will increase the threats it poses to everyone in its missile range the longer it enjoys impunity.
missiles to be fired towards NATO territory!
Russian missiles are currently attacking global security!
This is a serious escalation.
Action is necessary.
I now want to let everyone know that UA will always support our Polish brothers and sisters.
Terror won’t be able to break free humans.
When there is no fear, victory is conceivable.
And neither you nor we are afraid.”
While Russia’s defence ministry denied it, the United States and its partners in the West said they were looking into the claim that stray Russian missiles were to blame for the explosion in NATO member Poland.
The rumours that Russian missiles had struck Polish soil were refuted by the Russian defence ministry, who called them “a planned provocation intended to escalate the situation.”
“No strikes on sites near the Ukrainian-Polish state border were made by Russian means of destruction,” it continued in the statement.
Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, claimed to be unaware of any explosion in Poland.
