AAP campaign in Gujarat: Nukkad sabhas, large projectors, door-to-door meetings

Posted on November 28, 2022 By No Comments on AAP campaign in Gujarat: Nukkad sabhas, large projectors, door-to-door meetings

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the newest player in Gujarat politics, has been attempting novel strategies to connect with residents ahead of the state’s Assembly elections next month.

The political party has hired volunteers from Punjab and Delhi to connect with citizens in towns and villages throughout Gujarat’s several seats.

AAP workers have been spotted in Mehsana, in northern Gujarat, fulfilling promises like offering unemployed youth a monthly unemployment allowance of $13,000, giving all women over the age of 18 $11,000 each month, and giving away 300 free electricity units.

The AAP ran door-to-door campaigns during the day, and at night, party leaders were seen holding nukkad sabhas in various villages with big projectors alongside the local candidate.

We are a small, resource-constrained party. Gurpreet Gogi, a Punjab MLA, stated in India Today, “We reach out to people through nukkad sabhas using projectors to inform.

The political party made the claim during its campaign that it would follow the Delhi development model, which had allowed for the youth to receive a quality education in public schools and for people to access quality healthcare in mohalla clinics, among other things.

According to the party leaders, the AAP’s strategy in Gujarat is different from that of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, both of which have well-established organisational structures in Gujarat and have successfully implemented similar strategies in Delhi and Punjab.

The Kejriwal Employment Guarantee card has been provided, according to AAP candidate Bhagatbhai Patel. The reaction has been favourable. This seat will go to the Aam Aadmi Party.”

We would want to give the Aam Aadmi Party a chance this time, the citizens of Mehsana city told India Today when questioned.

“Its struggle in Gujarat is with the BJP, the state in power for 27 years, and not with the Congress,” the AAP leaders claim.

According to a Mehsana local, “The state has been governed by the BJP for 27 years. This time, it should be an opportunity for a different party.”
