Pune: Pancard Club Road Residents Raise Concerns Over Late-Night Construction – VIDEO

Posted on April 1, 2026 By NewsX 360 No Comments on Pune: Pancard Club Road Residents Raise Concerns Over Late-Night Construction – VIDEO

The residents of Pancard Club Road are irked by ongoing construction activities in their area. The residents claimed that currently multiple construction projects are underway, and these activities are not adhering to the prescribed rules and regulations. Construction work continues late into the night, beyond permitted hours, causing significant disturbance to residents. Heavy vehicles are frequently moving in and out of these sites, especially during late hours, leading to noise pollution and affecting the peace and sleep of residents.

Abhijna Hegde from Kalpataru Jade Residences, Pancard Club Road, said, “Construction sites in between Pride Platinum and 24K Sereno has started night shifts. Is this even legal? The labourers working at the construction site create a ruckus at night when the residents are sleeping peacefully. The noise coming from the construction activities has also increased. The noise pollution in our area is so high that people can’t sleep. Nobody is keeping a check on pollution; not just noise but also air pollution, as they have not covered the construction area with the mandatory green cover, which actually helps in controlling the dust particles from spreading to the residential areas.”

“I am a resident of Supreme Estia, Pancard Club Road. The unchecked and rampant construction on Pancard Club Road has pushed pollution levels to an alarming stage. Air quality has significantly worsened, and residents are forced to live in dust and noise day and night. Authorities must take immediate action, as this negligence is directly affecting our health and quality of life. Such unsafe construction practices are putting residents at risk and raising serious concerns about safety and accountability,” said Arvind Gidroniy, another resident.

Another resident, Siddharth Shah, said, “Noise pollution and air pollution are definitely there due to the construction work going on in the area, even late at night, but a few restaurants in the WeWork Eleven West building are playing loud music past midnight. That is also causing much disturbance for patients, students, and families with small babies living in the residential area nearby. Continuous late-night noise is affecting the peace and health of residents.”

“Currently, there are four to five construction sites in the Pancard Club area where work is going on, and due to the movement of these heavy vehicles carrying building materials, the roads have become unsafe for residents, as a lot of concrete spills are there, which leads to accidents due to skidding of vehicles. Also, as per the Supreme Court directives, all the construction sites should be covered with sheets to avoid dust pollution, but that’s not happening in this area. As per the SC directives, the permissible hours for construction activities start at 7 am and go till 9 pm, but nobody is abiding by these rules, and construction activities go on till 1:30 am. Also, they are using floodlights for construction; the lights are so harsh that they penetrate our windows, and we are not getting sound sleep. Rules and regulations are not in place, and authorities should look into this matter,” said Anand Gajendragadkar, a resident of 24K Sereno, Pancard Club Road.

The residents have also highlighted that the ongoing construction activities and lack of supervision are leading to multiple issues in the area. Some residents also complained of traffic congestion and safety risks on narrow roads, severe dust pollution impacting air quality and public health. Continuous day-and-night construction activities have made it extremely difficult for residents, including senior citizens and children, to live comfortably. The residents demand that authorities enforce strict compliance with construction timing regulations, take immediate action against violators, implement measures to control dust and pollution, and regulate the movement of heavy vehicles during restricted hours.
