Bhopal, December 16: The Uttar Pradesh government is dedicated to making Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025 a global emblem of Indian culture and unity. In pursuit of this vision, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture and Agricultural Marketing, Dinesh Pratap Singh, led a grand roadshow in Bhopal. During the event, the ministers extended invitations to Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, and the people of Madhya Pradesh to participate in this historic event.
The ministers announced that the Mahakumbh will be held from January 13 to February 26, 2025, on the sacred banks of the Sangam, under the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Addressing a press conference, the ministers highlighted special plans to ensure that the Mahakumbh is clean, healthy, safe, and digitally advanced. Measures to make the event eco-friendly include a ban on single-use plastic and the plantation of three lakh saplings. For health services, a 100-bed hospital has been established at the Parade Ground, along with other medical facilities. A team of 291 MBBS and specialist doctors, 90 Ayurvedic practitioners, and 182 nursing staff will provide 24/7 medical care to pilgrims and tourists.
Digital technology will be a key feature of the Mahakumbh.
To enhance the experience for devotees, various services have been integrated through apps, while AI chatbots are available in 11 languages. Features include QR-based entry passes, ICT-enabled cleanliness monitoring, multilingual digital signage, and navigation via Google Maps. Additionally, 101 smart parking spaces have been designed to accommodate up to five lakh vehicles daily.
Prayagraj has seen the construction of 35 renovated and 9 newly-built ghats, alongside a 15.25 km riverfront, inspired by Mumbai’s Marine Drive, along the Ganges. Crowd management will be handled through advanced control centers, CCTV surveillance, RFID wristbands, and attribute-based search systems via mobile apps.
The ministers described the Mahakumbh as a global symbol of social harmony, Indian culture, and unity in diversity, emphasizing the government’s efforts to establish the event on the world stage. Invitations are being extended across India and internationally to maximize participation.
The roadshow in Bhopal witnessed enthusiastic participation from the media, the travel industry, and local dignitaries, setting the stage for an unparalleled cultural celebration.
