Gujarat : Parents Outraged as Violence at Junagadh Hostel Surfaces Again

Posted on September 5, 2025 By NewsX 360 No Comments on Gujarat : Parents Outraged as Violence at Junagadh Hostel Surfaces Again

Junagadh Alpha International School hostel beating, the blunt times

Junagadh | Gujarat — The controversy surrounding Junagadh’s Alpha International School hostel has deepened, as new shocking videos of students being mercilessly beaten have surfaced on social media. The disturbing visuals, coming barely a month after the brutal assault of a 17-year-old Class 11 student, have sparked fresh outrage among parents and the local community, raising serious questions about hostel safety and the accountability of its administrators.

A Month-Old Incident That Exposed Hostel Violence

The storm began a month ago when a video of a Class 11 student being beaten by his classmates inside the Alpha International School hostel went viral. In the clip, the boy was seen being attacked repeatedly, leading to widespread condemnation. Parents accused the school administration of deliberately suppressing the incident and failing to take action.

Following the complaint by the victim’s father, Junagadh DySP Hitesh Dhandhaliya ordered an intensive probe. Police registered a case against five minors under Rule 8 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rules, 2011 at C Division Police Station, and legal proceedings are ongoing.

Fresh Videos Fuel Anger

Just as the first incident was being investigated, new videos emerged, showing more violent scenes from the same hostel. In one clip, three to four students are seen attacking a fellow student with a baton and even a hammer. The brutality has left parents fuming.

“Is this a hostel or a fighting arena?” one parent asked, demanding accountability. “We send our children here for education and protection, not to witness their future destroyed by violence.”

Police Investigation Intensifies

DySP Dhandhaliya confirmed that the new viral videos are being examined. “We are verifying the authenticity of the footage—checking how recent it is and whether it is indeed from Alpha International Hostel. A thorough investigation is underway,” he told reporters.

The police have also questioned the hostel’s administration regarding its security lapses, as repeated incidents suggest systemic negligence.

Management in the Dock

Meanwhile, G.P. Kathi, manager of Alpha International School, claimed that although the hostel is his property, it was given on rent, distancing himself from direct responsibility. However, this explanation has failed to calm furious parents. Allegations have also surfaced that the school encroached on a nearby public plot, further eroding trust in the institution.

Larger Questions on Safety in Education

The repeated violent incidents have shaken confidence not just in one institution but in the entire hostel-based education system. Parents and education activists are demanding strict action and transparent accountability.

Education observers warn that unchecked violence in hostels could have long-term psychological impacts on students. “The state must ensure stronger monitoring of hostels. Every child deserves a safe environment for learning,” said one activist.
