Madhya Pradesh Political Punch: The Return, Bid to woo, Game of Time & More

Posted on April 20, 2025 By No Comments on Madhya Pradesh Political Punch: The Return, Bid to woo, Game of Time & More

The return

A much-talked-about person associated with a former chief minister during the formation of the BJP government remained in isolation for some time. But he has again become active. The person, connected with the RSS and journalism, is now close to the head of state, who participated in an event on his advice. Besides, the person played an important role in an event organised by the state government in Delhi. People may see this journalist and thinker play an important role after 21 years. He may get an assignment in the state government. The head of state is discussing important issues with him. The journalist is working for an organisation connected to the RSS. He is on good terms with some RSS bearers, who also want him to stay connected with them. Accordingly, the people may soon see him in an important role either in the state or in Delhi.

Bid to woo

A union minister is trying to please the head of state. At a recent function, the minister heaped praises on him. Before this incident, the minister had appreciated the head of state at an event in his constituency. There are many reasons for the minister’s accolades. And one such reason is that he wants to keep administrative powers in his grip in the constituency. But the head of state barely gives an opportunity to any politician to interfere in administrative matters. The minister is saying that the head of state is doing the work in a better way. There are reports that at the time of the government formation, the minister was lobbying for someone else as chief ministerial candidate. This is another reason that he wants to please the head of state, forgetting the old issues. But the minister’s efforts have failed to make any impact. The boss is hardly doing anything on the minister’s advice.

Game of Time

The state government recently organised an event of the cooperative department. A central minister also participated in it. But many people got an invitation to the function, except for those who played a crucial role in founding the cooperative movement in the state. An MLA and former minister played a key role in establishing the BJP in the cooperative sector. When the BJP came to power in the state, he headed the cooperative department. Another former minister, also active in the cooperative sector, lost the assembly election. Some senior leaders of the BJP have worked hard in strengthening this sector. The government, however, kept all of them away from the function. The Congress was once strongly rooted in this sector. So, the people in the corridors of power say that at least those who destabilised the Congress from this sector deserved some honours.

Who’s closer?

These days, the BJP insiders are discussing, among all party leaders in the state, who is the closest to a union minister. A minister in the state cabinet is close to the union minister. He came closer to the union minister since he has worked for the party in an election in a state, risking his life. A former minister’s closeness with the union minister is also apparent. The party deploys the former minister in states across the country where an election takes place. Whenever the union minister visited the state, his relationship with the former minister was evident. Besides these two politicians, another leader enjoys the union minister’s support. The union minister depends on this leader to solve many issues.

Clear message

Many Congress leaders from the state participated in a conference recently held in another state. After the conference, it was clear that the chances of any change in the party’s state unit were thin. The party high command indicated that they had been satisfied with the state party president’s hard work. But the party high command advised the state party leaders to adopt more aggressive postures against the government. About another leader of the state Congress, the party high command said that he would handle the party’s affairs in Delhi. At the conference, the party gave him the respect he had deserved. He was on the stage with the party’s top leaders and held talks with them. The party planned to use this leader’s experience in Delhi politics. But the party did not give enough respect to another leader, also present at the meeting. So, those present at the function had realised his golden days in the party were over.

Lobbying for power

A minister in the state cabinet has stepped up political activities in another constituency, leaving his own pocket borough. He has set up an office in the city where he is trying to politically settle himself. There, he participates in many events. The community the minister comes from is very powerful in the area. The influence of those BJP leaders who come from this community and from the city has waned. A powerful leader from the area has withdrawn himself from political activities on health grounds. Another leader has passed away. Similarly, a few other politicians, representing the community, have gone into retreat for some reasons or other. The minister is trying to find an opportunity for himself in this region. The minister wants to step up his political activities in the area. He is regularly holding meetings with the eminent people of his community. There are indications that the minister plans to change his constituency in the next assembly election. Yet, the problem with him is that he is not friends with the leaders of the BJP organisation.
