Kohima: The National People’s Party (NPP) workers throw money in air to celebrate their win in Nagaland.
The party won 7 seats in Nagaland state assembly elections, the result which was declared on March 2.
In a viral video, the NPP party workers were seen pouring money in air at Kipheri in Nagaland to celebrate their win.
The NPP has retain power in Meghalaya for the second consecutive term under Conrad K Sangma and the part for the first time won seven sets in Nagaland.
In the viral video, NPP party workers throw money in air from a roof top and the people were running to collect the money.
The BJP-NDPP alliance winning 37 seats, crossing the majority mark. Nitish Kumar’s JDU has won 1 seat; Nationalist Congress Party has won 7 seats; National People’s Party won 7 seats; Lok Janshakti Party(Ram Vilas), Naga Peoples Front, and Republican Party of India (Athawale), each won 2 seats while Independents have bagged 4 seats.
For the second successive term, the ruling Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) won 37 seats in the 60-member state assembly in the February 27 polls.
Outgoing Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who on Friday was unanimously elected as the leader of NDPP legislature party, on Saturday submitted his resignation letter to Governor La. Ganesan.
