Doomdooma (Assam): It is the story of an Assamese woman who is self-sufficient and independent through strawberry farming. Gayatri Dohutia Gogoi of upper Assam Tinsukia district has proved that a woman can make everything possible in society by her strong confidence and will power. Women can compete with men equally in all sectors including the agriculture. The women are now not limited to the fencing of a home only .
Gayatri, an inhabitant of Makum’s Dimruhola village is farming Strawberry successfully besides being a house- maker and getting adorations of one and all.

“The farming is totally through naturally cultivation. No chemicals are being used so that its getting welcome in market. ” Gayatri told Our India .
“The strawberry available in the market is more than 400 rupees per kilogram.In spite of that people are purchasing from me at the cost of Rupees 400 per kilogram. ” she added.
The people make a rush to take the test of strawberries from far away as well as the neighborhood. She began the cultivation last year after getting seeds from Tinsukia district agriculture department.
Her initiative has inspired hundreds and they hope aid and proper training for strawberries cultivation from government. So be it, Gayatri has become an ideal inspiration for others.
