Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh government has prepared a Light and Sound show to showcase the life sketch of Devi Ahilybai Holkar and to propagate her pious deeds. Painters from across the country have drawn 234 portraits highlighting her persona charity works. A scheme has been prepared under the Startup Policy to help women.
CM Dr Yadav informed this at the second meeting of the state-level committee, which is formed to organise a grand programme on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai, held in Bhopal on Saturday.
CM said that a total of 118 places of the works done by Ahilyabai across the country have been discovered. Out of these, 234 paintings of her works available at 90 places have been made by the famous painters of the country. An exhibition of these paintings will be held across the state.
Member of the committee from the city Mala Thakur, who is also national general secretary of the Committee, Ashok Daga, Jyoti Tomar and Vinita Dharam, after attending the meeting, said that a light and sound show based on the life of Ahilyabai has been prepared by the Tourism Department at a cost of Rs 5.40 cr., which will be presented to the general public in Maheshwar.
Senior officials present in the meeting said that plays based on the life of Ahilyabai will be staged in the district headquarters in April and May through various institutions. A plan is also being made to build statues and buildings of Mata Ahilyabai on the Narmada Parikrama route. They said that many schemes have been approved so that women get employment through startups.
Training is also being given for making Maheshwari sarees. Units to manufacture these sarees are proposed to be set up in Ujjain, Omkareshwar, Indore. The members also informed CM about the reconstruction of the Indreshvar temple built by Ahilyabai. Mala Thakur also informed the Chief Minister about the future programmes to be held before May 31.
